Arfie- your brother in big rock Tennessee is just a few minutes from where my folks live in Dover Tennessee.
Did you know Ft. Campbell also incorporates the old Clarksville naval station.
and that the largest part of  Ft . Campbell KY. is actually on the Tennessee side.
it's only listed as being in KY. because the post office is on the Kentucky side.

next time your there visit the post museum.

Karl, I did know that most of Ft. Campbell was in Tennessee.  When I visited him there several years ago we drove through Dover (His daughter lived there for a bunch of years), then on down the Cumberland to Ft. Donaldson battle site.  Beautiful country around there.

Okletsee, I do not know weather to respond to your question here or on the contest thread?   If your referring to the contest car, I'd like to "quote" your question and respond to it on the contest thread so all can see your guess. But, I do not know how to make that happen? So, I will post your question for you there and answer...  I have done just that...However....if your refering to something else, you lost me??? Huh?

man you were in my old stomping grounds.
and yes it's beautiful but then the whole state is. From the plains of West Tennessee to the hills of middle Tennessee to
the great Smokey Mountains of East Tennessee.

Here's another piece of history .  Ft. Campbell was at one time an air force base as well.

And was once , one of 13 nuclear storage sites after WW I I  during that time it was controlled by the Navy
and the Marines guarded the, "bird cage" with orders to shoot to kill.

the so called bird cage is where the nuclear weapons were stored.

Anyways you ever make it back down here give me a holler and I'll buy you a cup of coffee.

Cache -
I was speed reading down the thread here and saw a pic  put up right here on this page.  Sorry I didn't post it in the right area I guess.

I was concerned to hear about aluminum Ford crash sites.  That's going to contaminate a lot of potential sites that are the real deal.

I loved visiting Ft. Campbell.  It always made my heart swell with patriotic pride to be around all those warriors.  Of course I might have felt different if it was my duty station!  Go 2/327 Infantry "NO Slack!"

Pat my Dad and I both Retired from Ft. Campbell KY.
him after 20 years and me after 30 years.
I've seen that base go thru some major changes.

Out of all the army bases I've been stationed at.  Ft. Campbell,  Augsburg Germany and Ft. Lee VA. .
we're my favorites.
