Does that taste like asparagus? Don't know if I would know a tumbleweed from fireweed at 6 inches. Got a lot of Lambsquarters and sheep sorrel coming up now, bumper crop. found a puffball while swinging tonight...not this cowboy! Morels, you bet, but I leave everything else alone. Yule Gibbons would be proud!

theres alot of plants/herbs growing  wild folks used to eat but alot of the knowledge of what they were and how they were prepared that was handed down through spoken word has been lost when the older folks passed  like polk salad and types of wild greens different mushrooms and so on  when times were really hard or folks was struggling to feed their families they done the best they could making use of whats availible   have ya'll seen the new regulations the goverment has just came out with concerning farm chores and kids its rediculous farming built founded this country  and yes its dangerous and accedents happen take the military for instance some of the best trained minds and bodies  and they still have accedents  they are taking more of your rights and liberties away in the good name of safety or the impression of safety  farming is one of the hardest most admirable and  thankless jobs out there and one of the quickest ways to lose everything generations before you have handed down land equipment etc,  and you cant just start a farm up unless they have or your a millionare you cant just go buy the land it takes let alone the equipment the know how alone to be a success takes years of trial and error with error being expensive as well.   but it is also one of the best teachers of the circle of life  with its triumphs and tragedies and hard work and responsibilty left for our kids and they are taking that away  hurting FFA AND 4 H sad folks  most folks now think thier food comes from a grocery store with no idea what goes into it before it gets there if a farm has been there for generations it is a treasure  and rare as a jewel  because so much has takin place to keep it going  i never ate dandelions  but knew folks that did stop or oppose  the new farm regulations  contact your senators and congressmen or a another whole huge part of what this country was founded on will be lost    josey
