Yes your right BA, there are over 600 species of Assassin bug and the same for the Kissing bug, with many of them too hard to tell the difference between.

Actually, the bug in the pic is an Assassin bug due to the fact of the 3 sectional beak with enlarged front legs which better hold there prey. I've seen pics of both and a couple of these bugs look so alike that they appear Identical.

I think I just may go to my Doctors office & mention the bug and bring it in, at least I should probably get an antibiotic for precaution.

Good articles BA...and the one that bit me very well could be a kissing bug.

Thanks BA & Appreciate your reply!  Great
Jim

They usually call them "Kissing" bugs in Arizona because they have a nasty habit of going after the mouth and nose of sleeping people.  They can carry some serious diseases.

Well I tied into a dredge tailing the other day.  I got a signal in the gold range.  No big deal, right?  I dug down a few inches, signal got stronger.  Had to move a rock.  Then had to move a big rock.  I was way down by now and I was becoming optomistic.  Then I found it!  A rusty square nail.  Century old junk.  Out in the middle of no-where, deep in the woods.  I've hit a stream a few times and bought me a gold pan in Idaho City.  At least my crash site days are over.  I'm not finding much aluminum these days!

.........my favorite and most prolific sites for hunting the elusive antique square-head nail  Wink    (I kid you not....fully 80% of the square head nails I have in my collection came from the middle of nowhere.)

A square nail in the middle of no-where makes me think I should switch to relic and cache hunting maybe.

A new title?  How about GOLD RECOVERY TECHNICIAN.  That's what I'm talkin 'bout.

Here is a pic of my first hot rock find while I was out detecting for gold.  It sent my Goldbug to Whackyville, but now I know how to read the signal after brushing up in my owner's manual.

As I predicted, the ART thread has gone to sleep and will soon slip into a coma.  I fear the end is near.  Don't worry, we won't let it suffer.  It shall feel no pain in the end.  I will simply wait until it is asleep for several days and then I will lock it forever.  Farewell, silly old friend.

How about you guys all get the real idea about this thread. Here it is.

IT IS JUST TOO LONG AND CONFUSING.

There's nothing inherently wrong with the name "ART." It's a humorous thing and worthy of a grin. Oh, and by the way, the FMDAC used to have a hat that had A.R.T on it. Underneath, it said "Aluminum Recovery Team." There have been many, many worthwhile discussions in this thread and topic. Many. Too many to count. Too many to sort through. Nobody who just arrives here can even begin to read it from the first to the last. Thus, you have created what is an exclusionary thread or topic where only those who have been participating can participate in the future. I suggest the same thing as I have been all along.

If you have something worthy to discuss, just start a new topic right here in Chit Chat if you wish but for Pete's sake, give it a new name so it gets the attention it deserves. If you pick a new name of exclusion, that one will become the next cluttered one so do everyone a favor and just pick a subject that deals with what you want to discuss instead of trying to be clever. No kidding. It's time to bring this forum back into the world of inclusiveness instead of excluding people who don't want to waste their time wading through 5000 messages.
