We got one. Super glad you asked as I went out to get you a pic and saw it needs to be ready!! Winds have picked up here in the last 5 minutes to blowing limbs down in my yard. VERY strong winds. Blew the kids tree house slide accross the road and its blowing north up the field. Somebody in Kc get that for me please.  Gray rider lives in Indiana. Built our own shelter off a goverment website. Part paid by state after the tornado that went though here 5 years ago. Some program offered.... pics of frt. yard and back....could'nt open the back door....

Go Up Go Down

down in Pensacola Florida, so the Funeral plans and the travel work of family members must be handled, and I'm the only one here at home up north at the moment where the funeral will be, so I'll be busy till this coming Sunday.

I'm glad things are running smoothly, and will check in hopefully in a couple days by weeks end.

Take care & may you have some good finds fellas-  Wink
Jim

Pat how r u guys ?

Hey everyone.  We're good.  We're North of dallas where the storms are just passing by or firing up to the north of us.  We ain't getting but a sprinkle.  I have'nt done any detecting or much of anything that I want to do.  But such is life.  We are finally back on the grid where the wifi and the dsl play and out of 56k land.

Posted on: May 23, 2011, 08:57:01 PM
I had an idea once to make an egg-shaped metal pod big enough for one human being that would bolt into/thru the concrete foundation of a house like a Molly bolt.  This would be an above-ground personal tornado shelter.  The round shape would allow the wind and projectiles to bounce off or around it.  Then I saw where someone was doing it with old ship mines or something.  You could also use old butane tanks...anything big enough to hold a human and strong enough to survive a tornado.

Of course the flaw in my plan was, if an alien were passing by they might think it was one of THEIR pods and beam it up.  But that's the risk you have to take.

Posted on: May 23, 2011, 09:05:38 PM
Anyway, its beddy-bye time for this one.  Hate to type and run but....

Go Up Go Down

He's my Dads brother, and we grew up around him here in upstate NY until he moved to Florida a few years back with his family.

Well he had a slight stroke about 3 yrs ago, and was living in an assisted living home there in Pensacola, he also had RH arthritis for years, and recently has sores on his feet that must have got infected which gave him a staff blood infection as far as we can tell. he was in the hospital for about 2 weeks and passed away today at around 4pm.

My Dad was down in Orlando Florida when we found out that he was in the hospital, so thankfully my dad drove to Pensacola which is 450 miles one way from Orlando & stayed with him for about 6 full days at the hospital until he had to leave last week. I was also able to talk with my uncle on my dads cell phone and he seemed to sound weak but knowing who I was and we chatted for a couple minutes. He seemed to be stabilized for a few days after my dad drove back to Orlando, but then about 3 days ago got worse we were told by his daughter my cousin, and he passed away today at 70 yrs old.

I'm going to be busy for a few days!

Thanks Guys & check in with you later,  Wink
Jim
