About a year ago, We bought 4.

Well you know how lonely it gets in them there fish tanks.

Before long it's 40 fish.  Then 90.  Then 150. Then 300.  Then 500.

Walmart use to buy them for 25-50 cents each.   They don't sell fish any more.   Embarrassed

Go Up Go Down

I had a 50 gal tank.  It got robbed when I was moving way back when.

I was moving to here and had a pile of my stuff in the front yard to load up.

I was coming loading and take stuff here about every 30 minutes or so.

My Neighbor ask me " Who is the Guy in the White Truck helping you Move?"  I freaked out.

They was just driving up to the house and taking chit.

I got back a Wardrobe I had from England from a pawn shop.

Found some of my Furnisher in a used furnisher store and got that back.

Fish tank and C-band sat system I never seen again.

They got a pile of old computer stuff.

God, I loved that Tank.

I could sit for hour watching there little  World in front of me.

I think I had a record on Neon Tetras.  They actually bread and lived for up to 5 years.

Tanks are cool and a lot of work , our big tank was for the oscars and sucker fish and the little tank was for the guppies etc we raised to feed the oscars , man u could drop one of them in the oscar tank and it would go hide we have had some make it for days before one of the oscars would eat it. others were not as smart and gone in a matter of seconds. but them oscars got huge and pretty.  then it was time to PCS move  u know the army every 3 years whether u want to or not ur moving,  so we sold it to a friend fish and all, last i heard he still had it.

I leaned how to set up tanks and you NEVER need to clean them.

I got to go to the St Louis zoo behind the scenes with all of there JiMungo tanks and filters.

I learned how the kept the million gal tanks clean.

It's all in the Medium in the tank and Bio Filters.

If you do this, you NEVER need to clean the tank

Underground Bio filter Aerated.

External Sponge and Charcoal filter.  Keeps the Bad Smell down to nothing.  Inside of it , it develops bio organisms that eat the Nitrates too.  I use to clean the Sponge about twice a year.  I made it out of  a 5 gal bucket. Just used a Jet pump to run it.

Used the test strips to check it ever three months and all was good.    Ammonia Good, Nitrates and Nitrites Good, Water was clear as glass.

If any of the fish got sick , I would throw in a cup of sea salt and they almost always got better. Yes Fresh water fish.

Every Month I would pull out two gal of water and replace it.  The Salt eventually was taken out until the next time I needed to hit it.

It was cool.

I had the Neon Tetras, Craw Dads from a lake, Some Zebras (they were cool , they swam in schools) a few odd fish like a Puffer (Mean Sum Brisket).

I.ve done my share of aluminum recovery, but there have also been many times that I've been glad to dig up 30 tabs or bottle caps for a nice silver coin!  Shocked

Welcome to the 4th floor.    LOL!

Yep, the little gold rings hide with the tabs for sure.

Folks that discrim them out are cool. They leave the rings for us.

OK, all you 'seasoned vetrans' of the hobby... where would you say statistically that most people have found gold rings?
1) Beach?
2) Park?
3) School grounds?
4) Other - if so, please specify.

I'm guessing that the more frequent the place is visited by people, then the more likely that you'd find a ring there.
