Good Stuff Karl.  Sounds like there going to peace you back together step by step.  Walk Soft and Carry a Big Detector.   What did they do in your Neck ?   Can you nod your head ?

  Other Carl !

What did you need to burn the Pics you sent for the Pin Pointer ?

Have a couple of Arduino Nano's  Clones coming from China to play with in the winter.  As much as I resist the Digital World is calling.

$5.00 each and $1.50 for the USB TTL converter to Program.   Only a vague Idea how to Program at this time.

Oh and a 1.5" x 1.5" LCD to play with too.

This should prove Brain Racking.   Eaaa, Winter Sucks.

How you getting by Homie? Good to hear from you. There is a big difference in the Arduino and the Pic. The Pic uses assembly language where as the Arduino uses what is called a script language which is something like the old IBM Basic. It can do things like C+ but it is not as complicated. Best of both worlds. You don't need a hardware type programmer to program the the board.  The arduino website has a software program. Just program it from your pc or laptop usb port with a cable. Easy-peasy. I purchased 2 a few months ago before my pc and laptop both crapped out. The Arduino website has lots of sample programs even one for a Nano pinpointer. Check it out.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

Good luck on your surgery, Karl.  Best wishes and thoughts are with you.

Hey, Dusty Carl!  You hear anything from BA anymore?  He doesn't seem to be posting this year except the birthday notices, which are automated for the most part.  Anybody hearing anything from him?

I've been in touch with BA by phone and by e-mail. He's fine. The birthday bot is still doing its thing.
