To me they seen to be a Bit of British Vauxhall/Opel which is German and the other half seems American,, GMC Borrowed the Holden Monaro's Chassis to use in the Chevy Camaro and it handles like a Dream because it has an independent Back end  and it goes like a Cut Snake.

Back in the day, my father would purchase a car in need of repair. He bought a Vauxhall. A blue four door. Can't remember the year but it would of been older than say 1968 or so. My sister and I still talk about it. She drove her girlfriends to the mall one day and pulled it up to the curb. (island) When returning to the car she drove forward, over the island and high centered the car. The girls got out and starting rocking the car to get it off the island. That had to be a sight to see....Looked kinda like this one only all blue...

I have a TINY bit of an issue with shaking my beer like that. Beer bathing is good but only when you do it on purpose and with your favorite lady.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.
