When I got it someone had taken the 260 out of it and put in a 302 Cleveland which was too wide and they modded the engine bay, and lowered the nose buy about 4 inches and It use to Lay Rubber like it was going out of fashion, It would lay rubber for about 150-200 feet without trying, Lol needless to say most would never race it because they thought it was a monster,lol

   I Remember the Comet as sorta a Sissy Car in looks..  I seen one do a 10 second 1/4 mile.   That change my mind.

Mine had the 289 it had a trunk big enough to haul a dozen bodies in it.

During the summer months when the top went down everyone wanted to go cruising the strip.

Lots of great memories in that old car.

They put the 289s in the AC Cobra's and they went like stink, Fantastic motor, Mind you I would like to play with an AC with a big block in it Kiss Kiss

   The guy across the Steet had 389 shaved 90 thousnd off the head.   The basic thri pack douls and a wee bit of cam.   1/4 race.

He could drive around all day getting 20 mpg until he stomped on it.

Sweet, I use to run 3/4+ in my road cars, mind you I was a bit of a REV Head,, come to think of it I still am,, lol
