Personally I think the big brands make enough options for you if you want to try hot loads or just the standard loads or anything in between, and if you buy enough you can save a lot, on my charts they list the fps and the Lb/ft etc so you can look up one that suits your need and not have all the worry,

I haven't bought bullets in decades. I buy brass, powder, primers and rocks. Only handloads for me. New brass, not used. My handloads are sought after by local shooters. I never sell them, just give a box away now and again. I have a special 9mm 95gr hollowpoint with a compressed powder load that is fantastic for 40ft or more range targets. Practially no drop at all.

Those who don't use handloads, can't handload.

That's the good side of hand loading, A few years back I spent 100s of hours trying to achieve a certain load without having it being a barrel burner and at the same time shoot flat enough to give me enough adjustment further down range
