If you have no objections, I could post that picture on another forum I am on. Where was the buckle found, and how deep? Also, would it be possible to get some additional photos from different angles?

Hi,
It was found in North Yorkshire around 10 years ago, on plough soil near the top, with a c-scope R1.
Will dig it out when I am back from my trip to Scotland.

The subject is buckles & clasps with anthropomorphic features. The author of the piece is, I believe, working on additional research for a more formal paper. You might contact her.

I think that your buckle is 13C or earlier, and is probably meant to be a lion head. I've got a similar one in my collection.
