I found and ordered a 2200 from Ebay. Paid less than $80 for it. One scratch on the display that don't effect anything. Warrantied by the seller that it IS working as it should. (He bought an upgrade) My only detector at present is an 1100 that has paid for it'self sevearl times. What say ye
? Good deal or bad. Just coin shooting and some casual relic hunting. Did I get hurt?

Thanks Xavier. I thought so too but not having much money it is hard to upgrade sometimes.

Well it got here yesterday. I was able to get out for maybe  a half hour to do some testing. I LOVE the zap feature. I found a washer about 8 inches deep where I had not seen a target before. Also found 2 pennies (1 zinc, 1 copper) and a couple clad dimes. This area is pretty well hunted out but comes in handy to test a new detector. Overall with the limited time I got to play with it it seems to be a pretty decent machine. Depth is better than the old one for sure. Now to hunt the old log cabin near here again. Wish me luck.

Looks like you got a very good machine. Clapp
silly question.Did you read the manual? No no! No no! No no!
Now put the detector away and pick up the manual, read from cover to cover and then read it again. Teach
There is an exam coming up that you will need to pass. Great
If you don't you will NOT be allow to use the detector.

NA NA NA NA NA NA! I beat you to it! I downloaded the manual the day I ordered it and read it 4 times before it got here. Now. What did you say was on the test.  Grin

congrats on finding your bargain, a have looked at bounty hunters a few times when i have been in the market, though i went with whites twice and teknetics the other time for an xmas present for my other half(eurotek pro), that was her back up machine.

when trying and testing BH's, i have allways found better depth with something else, that could be due to the test itself though.

i have liked the simple look and approach of BH's, its a shame i never found one that suited my needs, and although its not strictly a true bounty hunter the TITAN 9000 is on my if money was no object list.

the other problem in the uk, is no one ever has the full up to date range of stock, a shop i know here still has some tracker 505's new in the box, its almost impossible in the uk to see and test the BH range in one place.

also note that 90% of BH's work as intended, 5% work better than specs, but the remainder dont meet specs, this phenomenon seems to effect the lower priced BH's and lessens as go up in spec.
that said i will buy one when i find one that works for the task at hand.

i'm hoping that Carl Moreland now he's gone to first texas, is designing a budget pulse induction beach machine for them, there is a hole in the market there, i would buy one now if available.

sinclairuser, I feel your pain. I would have to drive over an hour one way to test anything much in this neck of the woods. I started out years ago with a TR550d. I loved that machine. Paid for it'sself several times. I even found a silver dime 12 inches deep one time. I couldn't fiqure out what I had found to be so deep but I kept digging until I found it. Shocked to say the least.
I have had very good luck with the BH line all along. Some are better suited to coin shooting than anything else but some are good for other things. My next purchase will most likely be a Pioneer 505. I already have the small coil and am ready to get the 10.25 inch magnum coil soon. Retired now so I have a little more time to play.
If you ever get over here to East Tennessee, look me up and we'll try some of the civil war campgrounds around here.
