Pat that engine came out of a 68 falcon but i know some folks put a 302 cleveland ,yep thats right i said 302, the US only ran 351 and the 400ci munroe motor, the 400ci came out on the US in the late 60s early 70s in the ford LTD after 72-73 they became the smog motors 170+ HP but if you put the heads from the 302ci on it that thing will pull a sailor off ya sister !
the cleveland block was made for along time in OZ , those head won't work to well on the 351 as the compression goes over 12.5 to 1 but the extra unswept area on the 400 means the piston don't go right to the top of the block so the compression ends up somewhere around 10-10.7 to 1 but the torque  is amazing you won't have to change down to go up hill, but if space is a problem then the 302 winsor engine will work and with the 302 cleveland heads on it you'll end up with the foundations of the Boss mustang engine like the one in the movie Bullit .  the winsor engine weighs about 468Lbs were as the 351 cleveland weighs 712lbs  and the 400 would be around the 800 mark.

I don't understand this motor.  I had a 2001 Cherokee Sport 6 cyl that would pull a house, and supposedly this '93 fuel injected 6 cyl is the same thing?  Someone said to check and see if it had a governor.  As far as I know that motor has never gone to vote. :Smiley   I would not know where to look anyhow.

Oh yeah I almost forgot...no metal detecting going on here for the next few days.  Its 15 degrees with blowing snow and a chill factor of minus 20.  I'm cuttin up shipping pallets for firewood cause I got caught flat-footed and didn't get out to the timber line in time.

Pat ! it may just have a throttle stop, so if you get someone to mash the peddle have a look and see if the throttle arm hits a stop when it's flat to the floor, If not the you can get the computer re chiped and that should fix it.  On the 1980s models the were made by AMC and they would kick a leg out of bed ( drop a piston ) the other problem was head gaskits blowing'
NOW if you are gonna rebuild the engine , when you buy both sets of bareings ( mains and big ends ) buy two sets of each because one part of the bareing has a grove in it and the other don't, so you need two sets so you can use the grooved parts out of both sets and throw the other bits in the bin, the reason i'm tellin you this is because crysler ( mopar engines ) have a narrow bearing surface than GM or ford or they use to any way this will increase the oil flow to the weak areas fitted with a high volume oil pump that thing will be all but bullit proof, NOTE!!! you truck might be restricted just because it's smaller ( lighter ) than the cherokee , If the engine is low mileage then just put a turbo on it , because of the low compression it won't need a decompression plate , yours should be around 8 --8.7 to 1 so you should be ok ,it does'nt matter if it has high miles if it's mainley done long trips , the turbo give you 20 - 30% more power than an average v8,

Pat i had a car in OZ the same as 68-69 dodge dart i put a 245ci Hemi in it now that was the same as the new 4.o ltr engine that thing would do 0 to 60 in about 5 seconds and over 110 in second gear i never did find out how fast it did in 2nd but it killed 2 clutches in two weeks before that it had an auto Borg/warner 35 and that blew backing it out the garage and it would lay rubber for 120yds+ and it would eat V8s in a drag, with the cam ,headers and a 500 holley it was alot of fun there were other bits too  but you get the idea of what you truck could do.

Hey Pat go to your local parts store see if they have a replacement card for it .
I got one for the ford increased Horse Power and Mileage and did not mess with the factory warranty i think it was $175 but well worth the other 3 MPG and Horsepower.
In the ford its up under the dash a little plastic box undue battery connection and then pull card out and slide in the new one its that easy, on some models its a piece u clip into the wiring harness and mount to the firewall, Check and see what is avaiable for your make and model.

Hey guys I know Gimp said to soak the pistol in diesel fuel , but i dont have any right now .
So instead i got it soaking in WD-40 , Think that will be ok?
I do have kerosene - wonder if that would work as well as the diesel ??

Karl i told the cook what you said about the dog house , she said there's some wood out the front get on with it.

Kerosene is better than WD 40 because thats got silicone in it and that causes rust ,and if you wanna degrease anything use unleaded fuel it does'nt leave any residue

I think the cook is tired of your shenanigans !!  Cheesy  Cheesy

Not trying to degrease it just remove the dirt and keep it from rusting away any further than it already is.
