Ok, so I got my new Tracker IV, and I have some Duracell "Procell" 9v Alkaline Batteries.....they are a "professional quality battery. Anyway, on the manual, it mentions to only use alkaline batteries, which these are, but it also mentions not to use "heavy duty" batteries.....I am not sure that "professional" = "Heavy Duty"........anyone?

Well if it doesn't say heavy duty on the battery then i would not worry about it.

Heavy duty batteries are simply those with an alleged "extra" capacity. Alkaline batteries are a different technology which are less prone to leaking their innards in high temperatures so manufacturers recommend them. They blossom green corrosion instead of leaking acid which can mean the difference between a damaged electrical connector (alkaline) or a completely ruined detector (heavy duty) when the acid leaks onto your electronics board. Most repair people will always recommend removing your batteries entirely during the off season or if you store your machine in your trunk, for example. Keeping the batteries in their own separate plastic box is a great idea.

Batteries:

Alkaline batteries have a longer power life at the same maintained voltage output. Also are less likely to leak.

Heavy duty Batteries drop of in voltage quickly, ramping constantly downward and also are more likely to leak and corrode.

Alkaline batteries voltage stays at that constant value of voltage output much longer then drops rapidly at the end of life.

Rechargeables will also be unlikely to leak and can save you money over the long run.

There are a number of sites on the net that offer these with free shipping. They pay for themselves after 3 uses. They also save the environment.

If you ever have a leaky battery.

Clean the contacts inside with moist baking soda several times.

This will neutralise the acids on the contacts.

Then wipe contacts with denature alcohol.

Spray a tissue with a light spray of WD-40 and wipe contacts.

WD-40 will not hurt conduction of installed batteries. Is used frequently with electrical contacts. Also benefits as moisture resistance.

Thanks When you're ready to step up to the world's finest  you're ready for Bounty Hunter. And get set to dig deep. Not into your pocket, but into the ground. That's because genuine bounty hunter   can pick out virtually any metal object from any terrain - yet even with all their features, they are surprisingly affordable.
