Hello namder1,I have been collecting&digging bottles for almost 30 years and have found if you start by asking the old timers around town or at coffee & doughnut place they can give you valuable info on were to start looking. Also old maps are usefull as well as old Sanborne fire fire maps of the area your in.I have had good luck in downtown areas that vacant lots just take some time to look at the lot, many times a structure had a series of out building's ,privies on them and after many years of settling they leave a good square outlined low spot of wear each hole was dug, plus grandpa or some other family member would hide out and have there happy hour there and drop the evidence below, and no one was going searchin for it ! Good luck and let us know how you do?
