Yes an impressive hole. Hope no one was hurt in the cave-in. Get some timbers in there before some one gets hurt. If you're giving up on it, fill the hole in so nobody else gets hurt in it.

As to Homie, I'll bet it's that allergic bee sting he has been dealing with He's been using some powerful stuff to stave it off. Afraid of doctors, so he's going the DIY route. Hope everything comes out ok.
