Go Up Go Down

If this is posted in the wrong place i trust it will be moved to where it needs to be.

I followed some links i found here, and did some searching on the web. why? Because i was
fascinated by the amount of devices available for purchase at the cost of thousands, which upon examination seemed to be nothing but nonsense. I began to think i was missing the point of it all. Was it an internet joke i wasn't in on? was it just some harmless fun?
It turned out to be real, and somewhat frightening that there are people out there who, either by delusion or by fraud, believe they can sell peices of plastic and metal with bunches of wires in them and make claims of their "machines", claims that go beyond normal comprehension and basic science principals.
I dismissed said machines and the claims made of them, and thought anyone who believed that these things could anything more than empty their wallets were welcome to be fleeced for their own stupidity and greed.
One web site i saw even claimed to be selling some sort of "wonder machine" and calling it a bomb detector, and had contracts with middle east governments. When i read this i was convinced it was a barefaced lie and proof you could put anything on the web and get away with it.
I find out today that the claims on the website in regard to contracts with governments in the middle east wasn't a lie it was true.
I also find out that the person behind the web site and the claims has actually been called to task on it!
It's quite alarming that such obviously outrageous claims have been taken seriously to a point that it has probably cost the lives of civilians and service personel!

OK rant over...  read for yourself..

Legitimate rant. This type of long range locator was "used" by treasure hunters before it crossed over into explosive detection. Banned in the USA a few years back, it is surprising how others did not follow suit with scientific/laboratory testing.

I just read today that the ADE 651 used in Iraq has found many car bombs and proven to be effective. A senior official said it would be a "big mistake" to remove them from the checkpoints. So, why is it the skeptics think they know more about this than the people who use them? I can only assume it is because they do not want to admit they are wrong.

As I have said before, no one who hasn't used one knows if they work or not. When you hear some skeptic making claims you have to know it is just more phony logic, what I call dirty lawyer tricks. They have no facts so they try to sway the jury with emotional pleas.

So....what would the harm be in supplying some links that would validate your claims or support your point of view?

You can look it up easy enough. I read the ADE 651 had located 16,000 bombs including 700 car bombs.

I took you suggestion....and read the ADE-651 may have been a factor allowing suicide truck bombs to pass through checkpoints on three occasions last year, leading to hundreds of deaths.

May have been also means may not have been. Seven hundred car bombs detected means many lives saved. They know what they are doing, you don't.

Tell that to the families of the hundreds killed. Tell the families their loved ones died because a dowsing gimmick you champion didn't work as advertised

post a link please.
nowhere i have searched has given any information that you state in regards to bombs detected.

now i have dabbled with dowsing and dabbled with metal detectors, the only one that's given solid tangable evidence of finding anything was metal detecting.
if theses "machines" being sold for tens of thousands of dollars have a scientific principal behind them please explain it to me. but from all i have seen and read, and not just the recent news stories about the ade651, i can see nothing worth the money these people are charging for the devices.
whenever one is opened up for examination it is either empty or has nothing inside except some cheap electronic componets that don't even have a battery to power them.
the claims made for these devices are either delusion, or plain fraudulant.

I'm not your baby sitter, look it up yourself. And while you are at it, you might notice that nowhere will you find any proof that the recent bombs ever went through the checkpoints. That's just irresponsible posting on your part to assume that. I know how the skeptics work--they have no facts so they use phony logic and emotional hogwash in an attempt to sway gullible types like you.

Either that or you and a few others have some other hidden agenda. I mean I would never accuse anyone of being a terrorist without proof, but the fact that the ADE651 has been proven to be effective, it makes me wonder why anyone would try to get it removed as you have clearly done.
