All I can say on soil knives (digging tools) is that since I started this hobby, my arms, although sore, are getting stronger because of them - lol.

I been using the ames I got from Lowes that was mentioned for about 3 years now and it's still doing a good job for me.
I tried a few of the others found in garden centers but the ames is the best the sarated edge cuts right through them small roots we sometimes encounter with no problem for the price range I don't think you can beat it.

Hey Pat he is talking about a Digger, like the Ames or my old blue one etc.

Okay.  Yeah I like the one on the link but the ames is cheaper I think and has more of the seraded edge.

Steve I Went to Lowes today - Our lowes doesn't sell the Ames Brand so I bought what I liked the most out of what they had and got the 10% Military Discount also  Smiley ,  Had To cause everytime i post a pic of my trusty old blue digger everyone laughs at what shape its in and how old it is.

So here are a few pics of what I bought today= It might help U with ur decision or at least give u some ideas.

Just so you know, my wife got about a year and a half (nearly two ) out of one of those red handled diggers like you got posted, but the last time out, it bent up pretty good on her.....we can straighten it out and use it around the house or in well-watered parks...but we'll be getting an Ames for her, too......and if Lowe's ain't carrying 'em anymore, we'll go to True Value or anyone else who is.
