It is a frequency control  . Doing a good job . There is also a ground emitting knob that you have to push everytime you change the setting .  Cornelius

I guess for us here in US, we would call that a ground Balance button, am I correct? Thanks, John

Yes you could call it that John but in reality it is just a modus to exclude the influence of the soil in the possibility to read the target you are after . So you are emitting the influence of for instance mineralized soils   or  other unwanted materials .  Cornelius

Yes, that is what I figured it was, we usually call it 'ground balance' in the US, meaning it eliminates the effects of bad or mineralized ground, but your discription is more accurate. Interesting detector. I may get to building one of these one day. Too busy just now with furnace problems in my house, and other work. Thank you for the info. John

Hello , Transistors T3, T4 , and T5 , the collector and emitter are reversed on the schematic . Please reverse when you place and solder to the circuit board. C7 is 220 n.f. which is correct on schematic here . R36 and R38  1 ohm is also correct on schematic . R34 at 680 ohms will work , but might not be the correct value  . The circuit here should Work !! A lot of different forums over the years have discussed the Author and his Mistakes , and how his work was copied from an old great German P.I. called the XR6 !!!

 Great............. Waveing...........Eugene52

Eugene when I published these schematics  (BPD 2010 ) the author threatened to sue me  . Evidently he wised up .  No wonder if he copied the schematics from somebody else  . Thanks for the info .  Cornelius  PS . If you have the PCB for the Bandido II u Max and you don't want to post it here , please e-mail it to me . I did build the Bandio and want to compare the two .    alphaor@versatel.nl

Here is the Time-line . Sniffer XR6 did very well than closed its doors !! A few years later a book was published with a few schematics and errors . A revised book including corrections was never published !! Last and the 2nd printing was in 2004 [no-corrections] , and is not published anywhere , anymore !! The german sniffer re-emerged with Sniffer XR7 and later the famous Delta Pulse . Everything today is now Discontinued . If any one still owns a sniffer XR6 , they know I am 100% correct and are welcome to post digital photos of the circuit board .Thank-you........................Best Regards........................Eugene52

Hello JCPinCt . I found all the files and a bunch of photos but they are too big to post here !! I will be happy to e-mail them to you , if you like . One of the zip files I have of the circuit board "lay-out" is 697 kila-bytes which exceeds the 500 kilabyte limit !.......And the final camera pictures of the DBP-2010 are over 1 mega-byte . I have everything you need to complete the project . You can e-mail me at amtech2005@yahoo.com            Waveing............Best Regards......................Eugene52

would I be able to get a copy of them plans etc. I would really love to have a go at making my own. email them to me at masculator002@yahoo.com.au if you can
