Thank you for the tip.

I also sometimes use some fishing line and a small weight that I drag behind me from the center of my pants belt loop that leaves visible lines in the sand for gridding.

I found this method to be less obtrusive visually to others on the beach and it is a lot easier than dragging a scoop behind me.

Thanks,

Roman

I have dug up a few Indian head pennies myself, here in Florida, from around the turn of the century.  None in great shape though, unfortunately...

I know that I posted this somewhere on Thunting before but...you can use a small fishing weight on a piece of monofilament fishing line and drag it behind you to make grids in the sand.

A lot less work and less intruvsive than dragging a scope or setting up markers.

If your your using a Minelab Sovereign you will have to hold your scoop over your shoulder the whole time that you are detecting or you will read the scoop.

Hands off to the Sovereign but it makes for a long day of detecting if you don't pay attention.

Beach detecting is the best.......Nature at it's best.

Easy digging,Easy hole fill and lots of Beautiful Women.

I'll be in Palm Harbor Fl in March 2011 and wonder what beach hunting might be good.
