 Detecting

I always get a kick out of watching prospectors on TV because they are always taking a drink out of the river. You wouldn't do that in Texas. You'd die of muck poisoning or get bitten by a poisonous snake. I love shallow water detecting here though and never know what will come out of that water. It's better than a big boys' Easter egg hunt.

I tent to find a lot of pot pipes. Head shops must have a good residual business because tokers lose a lot of pipes in the river.  I never find less than about 100 coins when I go but they are usually7 in pretty bad condition.  Last hunting season, I found a really cool Zippo lighter, a ruby bracelet and a gold ring.

Gotto go -- my wife is getting mad. Angry

Get thyself up into the Hill Country along the Balcones fault, my boy, and check out some of the source springs.....(of course I wouldn't drink out of the river much beyond the spring.....and I still check for rattlers and copperheads, even if I wasn't worried about the cottonmouths)
