Well it was too good to be true when I built my original website at geocities.com it was supposed to be for life.
That was until Yahoo who bought geocites out that they werent satisfied with the revenue they got for advertising and decided to start charging everyone.
As far as Im concerned my site has done the job of what it was intended for and that was to introduce new people to the hobby.
Why am I telling you this well there maybe some of you that want to save some of the info I put up there.
Yahoo intend to close geocities sites down on october 26th 2009 so you have a few days to get what you want.
I will not be rebuilding it or finding another home for my material I gave Christian permission to use what he wants.

Maybe you should ask Christian about a web page he offer's free webhosting for these kind of page's,,It would be a huge loss to see this site disappear

Outback has the right idea. Alan has a wealth of information that has taken him years to compile and it would benifit old and new members of this site. Alan has given  Christian permission so down load it for this site to use. But just in case I copied all the files as well. Thanks Alan

I do NOT want Yahoo's invasive plugins, if I can not down load a PDF, as it is shown, it is a rip-off and you NEED to find another site, desperately!

I cetainly do not need a plugin for text!

goldigger, have you tried opening a page click it with your cursor then press control + A  this will select all the type on the page and it should turn blue.  then goto start and open notepad click on that and press conrol +v this will paste or copy the text over to notepad and you can save it without unwanted adds and crap.   Oh just out of interest that is one hell of a big site I made and I dont want to fart around rehashing everything because for what its worth few people who steal the information have no decency to even leave a little thank you.  So why should I give a hoot about them?  They dont appreciate anything thats given freely. They would if they had to pay for it.  But thats human nature I guess.  Angry

the sequence is control + A   selects everything
control + C copied the selection
control + V pastes or copies the selection to notepad then save is as normal  Amen

Hello Alan,

if you liek I would be most happy to host your site at thunting.com. We can set up a subdomain for your like for example beachhunting.thunting.com or whatever URL is fine with you (format is xxx.thunting.com)

You will have full FTP access to this directory and upload and chaneg whatever you like. While this give you full freedom there also will not be any annoying advertisements ... and of course it is fully free.

I would be most happy to give you a hand and help that all this outstanding artciles will stay availabel to the public.
