I need a scoop but the main reason I have not bought one yet is the cost, they are just too expensive! I really need to make one!

There are some really interesting plans for scoops out there, including a few here on THunting.com.    In particular, there are some very interesting and well designed scoops made out of PVC pipes and/or fittings purchased at the local hardware store.   Surprisingly, these seem to be holding up as well as many of the heavy metal scoops and cost a lot less.

i prefer a plastic one -fairly cheap and you can run it over your coil to see if the finds in the scoop - of course you cant do this with a metal one

this scoop changed my water detecting in just a few hours, from a huge, frustrating waste of time with a big SS rig, to a 1ct 3-diamond 14k ring, and a 10k class ring. It was just so much easier to use.
