Enjoyed reading this info here!  Lots of great ideas and plans. I've done Volleyball areas in local public parks, these work well. Old school grounds(that are legal), walk paths to schools.  Had to dig over a foot once in Massachhusetts near an old red brick school tree truck, came up with an old silver dime. FUN! At my dad in law's place we dug up lots of old time relics of the houses past, some he knew of, some was new, old car parts. Was fun for all of us.  Can't wait to retire(too far out ...) and REALLY dig a storm! Any peeps in FLorida(central west) that care to pair up?

Hi Mumszie.......glad you decided to stop lurking and speak up  Wink.   Why don't you drop by New Users Introductions and tell us a bit about yourself so we can give you a proper welcome?    And thanks for the directions to the videos.  They're definitely helpful

Treasuremomo is right on the flotsam or debris line. Just remember it contains all other kinds of "not goodies" like fish hooks and lures hiding in the seaweed. So wear feet protection of some type....

I will be trying out the coin line theory in just a few hours myself! I was on a beach in Galveston a couple of days ago and spoke with an old timer that was out in the water with a minelabs Excalibur, and he had a few rings, coins, etc. He was kind enough to share some tips with me since I am new. He will mill around finding what he can while he observes all the families, etc. on the beach. He watches where they sit, where they wade with their kids, etc. He said his favorite activity is to watch a group of women (go figure!) that all have a bunch of jewelry on, and at the end of the day after they have left he goes in the are of the water where they were and scans there. Says he almost always finds something. I Love beach hunting....looking forward to reading about more!
