Now I just feel I can put some extra money into a more expensive machine. I've read a lot of posts and seen a lot of positive feedback on this detector.  I'm gonna get a Minelab Excalibur 1000.

I agree with Seldom.....good choice going with the Minelab Excalibur 1000 since it is within your new purchasing comfort range.

And all the previous work trying to figure out whether the AT Pro was worth buying wasn't wasted either (you'll find a use for the info at some point, and if not, someone else here will benefit from the discussion).

This is really having a go at Garrett ?

We get it. For some odd reason, you HATE Garrett. Don't worry. They'll survive without your love, mate. Seriously.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

White's Classic 5 ID, Garrett Sea Hunter MK II

Thanks for the info. I'm saving up to buy an AT PRO, mainly for use on land since my White's Classic 5 ID depth is not that great. I hope the AT PRO will be a nice backup for my Garret Sea Hunter MK II.

It would be nice not to dig all the nails gifted to the beach by hurricane Ike.

Thanks again.
