I'm using a Whit'es Prizm II, good detector, maybe the people on my local beaches aren't that doppy? Shocked
I need to go to more populated ones...like Virginia beach or the Carolina's.

Nice and light detector, but a couple of mates say that when they had them they weren?t too good at very thin silver. Are you hunting dry sand or wet, and salt or fresh water ??

Probably Looe beach, but we may try Millendreath which is pretty close to Looe, do you know it?
Thanks Ray. Just out of curiosity , im looking at your list of detectors and i was wondering if you had a favourite, maybe one that does everything well , beach and dry land, . Im already thinking about my next one you see.
Hi im probably biased but I swear by the sov xs2a pro for the "wet sand" my settings are all metal mode, max sensitivity that is out of auto, and in the manual range at its highest setting, and practice practice practice and you will begin to understand the signals most iffy deep signals once learnt are coins or rings, dont bother with the other settings notch ect leave them off, now to coils I use the 15 inch wot coil and if there is a lot of iron about I use the standard 10 inch coil, as I have said these are wet sand settings and I have found numerous coins and jewellery using this method, another tip if you get this detector, get a cheap belt attach a bungee cord to it put a loop in the other end this will attach to the detector stand just behind the arm cup, you have to get the length of cord right so that when you dig a signal the detector hangs by your side and out of the wet sand you will find this invaluable, down side the sov is heavy but my arm is use to it now, you can use the sov for the dry sand with different settings but I prefer a laser or Tesoro light and quick, once you learn how to use the sov its just as deep as a PI

ML Sov XS2a is also a good beach detector, and used a lot, but again, don?t get the box wet, it won?t like it  :'(
ML Excalibers are good detectors and waterproof too, and many swear by them.

There are lot?s of machines out there that are able to be used, and it depends if you will be wading into the water or not, and if so, HOW DEEP ?
The deeper you wade the more you?ll have to think about going to a 100% waterproof detector, as otherwise sooner or later you?ll drown your machine, and that?s expensive !!

Take your time, save your pennies, and wait for the right detector at the right price to appear.
Take a look at Stafforshire Detectors, he usually has some used beach detectors at a good price with a 3 month warranty !!
And NO, I don?t have any connections with him.

Look, mate, what is it that got you upset? All I saw were people offering opinions about which detector is a good choice. Nobody said your choice was bad but you seemed to take it quite personal.
