Go Up Go Down

Hi, when the clocks changing I bought myself a head lamp. So I would not be restricted to daylight detecting. I was out last night until about 8 it was alright but it's a bit restricting I personally like to be able to look along the beach to see if there are any features I want to explore but once it was dark your restricted to your own patch of light. So my verdict on detecting in the dark is I would not go out late at night to detect through until the morning, but having a lamp means that an afternoon on the beach does not have to end because it's teatime and it's to dark to detect. Finds for the afternoon were a hand full of decimal and a 1967 one penny (found that in the dark.) Grin

After last night I'm also thinking about buying a proper shovel I have a mini shovel but I've decided that a normal length shovel will save me a lot of bending and kneeling.

Same,

Since the clocks went back (Im still trying to figure out why we are one of the few countried that actually do it!), Its getting dark around 5 - 6pm so when you finish work you have no choice but to get out hter ein the dark.

Its ok but as Dave says above, you want to be able to look at the area you are in, not to mention the display on your detector.

But i guess here we have no choice, and im hoping if i get used to it in the dark, durin the day will be easier Smiley

Daytime is always the best, but when you get off work and only have 1/2 hour to MD, being able to see is important.  Last year I bought this cap that has a LED light in the bill of the cap.  I then thought this was better than sliced bread.  I could walk the dogs and not have to carry a flashlight. Work on the car, or anything, with not losing one hand holding a flashlight, well now they have 3 settings put into the bill of the cap.  GREAT!!! I now have this one, and it really gives you the light.  Nice and bright in the hole... And when walking with a group, you can put the cap on backwards and give some light to the rear!!

You can get these at Lowe's, Home Depot and I have seen them at Walmart.  Cost is anywhere from $15.00 to $20.00.

Well worth the investment.  You can change the batt, my 1st had still has the orig batt, and still works pretty good.

Everyone enjoy the rest of the day!

Night time hunting  Smiley Smiley I love it. No body to get in your way. I hunt in the water from ankle to neck deep. The only time I turn my headlight on is to check the scoop. I have to dodge the flying fishing weights from time to time cause the fishermen do not realize I am out there.
