First thought is 'Don't Go On The National Seashore' with a detector, they will take your detector, your vehicle, and put you in jail also. That is a large area, so do your research before hitting a beach on the Cape. The beaches near Falmouth were ok when I did them years ago. Summer crowds can be fairly large and the hunting the many beachs can be good. I mainly did beach hunting, as the water is not too easy to do along the East facing shore, due to fairly constant wave action and quick and deep drop offs, but I bet there is a lot in the water, when you can get in and work it. Many beaches to do along the mainland area just before getting to the Cape also.

Most of the off limit NP beaches are from Chatham and north to the tip of the Cape. The area of Mara Vista to Falmouth has some beaches that have plenty of people on them during the summer. Mostly it is just test and try, and if you start finding, stay with it. Good luck.
