Hello All

Here is a story of an old hermit 85 year Robert Briers that always payed for goods purchased with gold dust. When he died in 1953 it was believed by distant relatives and locals that he found a good deposit of gold.

His shack was at the base of the Maitongoon Ranges and it was know he had done a lot of prospecting in the area over 50 years especially around a place called Indian Gully.

Some pretty country you have down there. One day I hope to make it there to visit and see if I can stumble over a big nugget Smiley

Thanks for the story Hardluck!  Smiley

Hello Idaho Jones

Big nuggets are still found down here by lucky detectorists working the old gold mining sites every now and again.

I live in Connecticut and have no interest in searching for treasure out west because there are too many treasure hunters and big snakes.

Hello All

Some times its the small little treasure caches and more fun and interesting checking out than the larger treasure stories.
