I had a good laugh a few months ago.
We had a crew or Archies doing a dig just down the road from my house.
I kept stopping pestering them as to what they was finding.
This is just off the Mimbres River (DRY Now) 30ft from NM HY 180.
They trenched about 200 yards 3ft deep along the easement of the High Way.
Branched the trenches all over the place they did.
Found all kinds of goodies they did.
Grinding Stones, Chips, a few hand tools.
This lasted for two months.
They dug down and every time they found a carbon layer they called it a fire pit. Laugh was on them . This place is all blow sands and I can't remember how many bush fires from Cigarettes chucked out of cars there have been in that area. All they was finding was Burnt Bushes in the spots that the winds hadn't distributed over the land scape between here and El Paso.
The daily winds can move the sand a foot or more deep in just a hour or so.
I can find the same goodies on my 5 acres I call home. One mile away.
Well, They Booted me out!
There I was watching them make this big deal out of yet another 1/2 inch layer of CARBON, and I lit a cigarette. OMG, You would have thought I Whizzed in their Wheaties!!!!!
They Yelled at me how I was CONTAMINATING the Carbon 14 samples there taking from the spot and asked me to leave.
I tried to explain to the Head Honcho don't you think that's sorta late?
You don't think all the Cigarette butts laying here from the Highway did that?
Don't you think the soot from the Diesels and Cars did that?
Don't you think the kids playing CampaRoo out here did that.
Two days later they Covered there Holes and were gone.
Is this how they Write Text Books?
