first timer here in central alabama, any tips on where to start and best places to buy all the materials im gonna  need to start searching for gold.

i live close to the blue creek area, supposdly one of the first places to produce gold in the mid 1800's, its off the coosa river and there are alot of creeks and feeder branches to explore.

does anyone know anything about the blue creek area or other areas in chilton or coosa counties.

First, get the book: Mineralogy of Alabama. Second: get the release from USGS: Alabama Mineral Locality Index. Finally, I agree with visiting the gold camp in Lineville, Alabama.  There are many places in East Central Alabama including Cleburne and Randolph Counties.  Good hunting!
