Has anyone ever heard of Confederate Gold in Alabama? The first capital of the confederacy was in Montgomery and the Indians had a few caves of treasure in Alabama, but I ran across some historical information from just after the Civil War about Alabama having a gold hoard from CSA but it is vague to the point of just mentioning Alabama. Some people suspect there is still some in Washington, Georgia, from April 1865, and this is a natural assumption considering what happened at the Chenalt Plantation. But any CSA gold in Alabama would have to have been brought there by railroad because of the weight, I would presume
not to say that the red clay of Alabama could not support some wagons full of gold coins!
